Emergency Eye Care
Our office always accepts walk-in emergency cases when the doctor is in, with or without a referral. Optometrists are equipped to properly diagnose eye conditions and can often provide similar services to the hospital emergency department - but with a shorter wait time. All of our optometrists are certified in the use of topical therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of eye disease.
Ocular emergencies may include, but are not limited to:
- Red and/or painful eyes
- Flashes of light and/or new onset floaters in the vision
- Sudden full/partial loss of vision
- Foreign objects in the eye (such metal, chemicals, etc)
- Trauma to the eye
- Sudden double vision
These visits are often be covered by OHIP, regardless of age. For more information, please contact our office.
